Kinesiotaping in Zurich
Targeted support for muscles, joints and fascia
Kinesiology tapes, also known as Kinesio tapes, are elastic, self-adhesive cotton strips with a skin-friendly acrylic layer. Applied directly to the skin, they support muscles, joints and fascial structures without restricting mobility. In physiotherapy and sports contexts, they are used to reduce pain, treat injuries, and optimise movement patterns.
When is kinesiotaping helpful?
Kinesiotaping can be beneficial in many situations, such as:
-
Muscle tension or back pain
-
Joint problems or instability
-
Sports injuries or overuse symptoms
-
Postural imbalances and limited mobility
-
Pregnancy-related discomfort
-
Lymphatic congestion or swelling

How does kinesiotape work?
Thanks to its elastic properties, kinesiotape allows full range of motion while gently lifting the skin. This promotes circulation, reduces pressure on sensitive structures, and stimulates the nervous system.
Who is it for?
Kinesiotaping is suitable for adults of all ages – whether you're physically active, under occupational strain, or looking for gentle support alongside physiotherapy.
When is kinesiotaping not recommended?

Although kinesiotaping is generally well tolerated, there are certain situations where it should be avoided or only used after professional assessment:
-
Acute or unclear conditions (e.g. recent injuries without diagnosis)
-
Fever or infection with reduced general health
-
Early pregnancy (especially in the pelvic area during the first trimester)
-
Skin reactions, allergies, or open wounds
-
Known thrombosis (risk of dislodging a clot)
-
Oedema caused by heart or kidney disease
-
Cancer or metastases in the affected area
If you’re unsure, I’m happy to advise you personally on whether kinesiotaping is safe and appropriate in your case.
